Emergency Services Districts

Travis County Fire Rescue is powered by the collaboration of three dedicated Emergency Services Districts. These districts provide the essential funding and administrative framework that allows our personnel to deliver life-saving services across the region.

What Is an Emergency Services District?

An Emergency Services District (ESD) is a local government agency created by voters to provide fire protection and emergency medical services in specific areas. Travis County Fire Rescue operates as a unified service provider across multiple ESDs, ensuring that critical funding is translated into direct community support. This support covers everything from hiring and training professional personnel to maintaining state-of-the-art fire apparatus, modern facilities, and rigorous strategic planning to meet the growing needs of our communities.

Working Together to Serve Our Communities

Travis County Fire Rescue operates under a unified mission, combining the resources and strategic leadership of multiple Emergency Services Districts. By collaborating across district lines, we ensure that every community receives consistent, high-quality fire protection and life-saving emergency medical services.
